Editor, Ceres Courier,

The City of Ceres celebrated 20 years as a Tree City USA with the help of 185 kindergartners and firstgraders at Lucas Elementary School. It was a beautiful day for planting trees at the newest school site in Ceres!

The city donated three Chinese Pistache trees to be planted at Lucas, trees which will provide shade for many future generations.

A special thank you to those who made this event possible: Ceres Garden Club, Mayor Chris Vierra, Urban Forester Glenn Flamik, Lucas Elementary, Ceres Public Works Department, and the Ceres Recreation Department.

Traci Farris,
Recreation Supervisor,
City of Ceres
