Kudos to Hughson squadron of Sons of American Legion
letters

Editor, Ceres Courier,

Congratulation to the Sons of the American Legion’s SAL Squadron #872 in Hughson. The squadron once again achieved 100 percent membership as well as 100 percent of its per capita goal in donations to the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation. With its help, the Foundation was able to provide grants of over $811,282 to 22 organizations, thus helping children suffering from cancer, depression, bullying and autism to mention a few.

The local Sons squadron was also able to provide financial support to disaster and emergency relief, veteran’s assistance and rehabilitation, children and youth foundation as well.

Anyone interested in American Legion programs or eligibility may contact the Post Adjutant at prhman@yahoo.com or call (408) 891-6835. Eligibility in the American Legion is now for anyone with one day of honorable active service since Dec. 7, 1941 thanks to the Legion Act passed by Congress and signed into law by President Trump in 2019, the centennial of the American Legion.

Roy A. Santiago,

Hughson
