MODESTO-- The Ceres High varsity boys track and field team had a memorable outing against Johansen on Wednesday.

Several Bulldogs broke records en route to leading Ceres to a 78-49 win over the Vikings.

"We had lots of different guys do well," said Ceres coach Drew Brown.

Ceres improved to 1-0 in the Modesto Metro Conference. Johansen fell to 0-2 in the league standings.

Ross Tate set two records in the high jump. He cleared a personal-best 6 feet, 4 inches.

"That's the school record for sophomore boys," Brown said. "He barely missed 6-5. He clipped it with his feet."
