CHS frosh girls place first again

For the second week in a row, Ceres High's freshman girls basketball squad placed first in tournament play.

The Bulldogs won all three of their games at the Grace Davis tournament.

"They played great," head coach Angela Durossette said. "They played like a team and everyone contributed."

Ceres High defeated Oakdale 41-16 for the championship on Saturday, Dec. 13

Jessica Ellsworth had 12 points, nine steals, two rebounds and two assists to lead the Bulldogs. Kaycee Creek tallied 10 points, six steals, four rebounds and four assists. Ashton Frampton totaled six points, six rebounds and three assists.

Ceres High beat Pitman 30-22 on Friday, Dec. 12.

Ellsworth posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Creek had 12 points and six rebounds.

The Bulldogs downed the Downey Knights 39-18 on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Ellsworth paced Ceres High with 10 points and six boards.

Frampton had nine points, four rebounds and four assists.

Creek chimed in with seven points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Harveen Gill scored seven points and snatched 23 rebounds.
