CHS suffers narrow losses in VOL play

Ceres High School's varsity baseball team endured a gut-wrenching start to the Valley Oak League season last week.

The Bulldogs dropped a two-game series to Sonora by a combined three runs.

Ceres High lost 5-4 in extra innings to the host Wildcats on Tuesday, March 16.

Sonora scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

The Bulldogs collected seven hits.

Tyler Brenning had a solo homer.

On Friday at Art McRae Field, Ceres High committed three errors on its way to a 6-4 setback to Sonora.

The Bulldogs lost despite accumulating 10 hits on offense.

Ceres High (2-6-1, 0-2) will play host to Lathrop this Thursday at 4 p.m.
