Ceres High School’s varsity baseball team played six non-conference games in an eight-day span.

The Bulldogs compiled a 4-2 record.

Ceres High routed visiting Downey 12-2 on Thursday at Art McRae Field.

The Bulldogs batted .333 (9-for-27) as a team.

Brett Conway finished 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs.

Ricky Lopez finished 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs.

Brad Bussard finished 1-for-4 with one RBI, two runs and two stolen bases.

Brent Bussard finished 1-for-2 with one RBI and two runs.

Izaiah Hernandez finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs and one stolen base.

Drew Stahl batted 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run.

Kyle Mooney batted 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Ismael Ontiveros collected one RBI.

Merrik Price scored once.

Ricky Lopez was the winning pitcher.

He allowed no runs and no hits with one strikeout and three walks in 22/3 innings.

Downey avenged the loss with a 12-4 win over host Ceres High on Friday.

The Bulldogs committed five errors.

Price was the losing pitcher. He gave up seven runs—two earned—and seven hits with three strikeouts and two walks in 42/3 innings.

Hernandez, Brad Bussard, Brent Bussard, Adrian Lujan, Austin Stahl and Ricky Lopez all contributed on offense.

Brad batted 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run.

Izaiah batted 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs.

Brent and Adrian both drove in one run.

Austin and Ricky chipped in with one single apiece.

Ceres High edged Atwater 6-5 on Wednesday in Ceres.

Hernandez led the Bulldogs’ eight-hit attack.

Izaiah doubled twice, knocked in two runs and scored once.

Lopez batted 2-for-2 with one double, two RBIs and one run.

Conway batted 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run.

Brad Bussard batted 1-for-3 with one double, one RBI and one run.

Brent Bussard batted 1-for-2 with one run.

Ontiveros tallied one run.

Cole Silva singled.

Brad Bussard had a solid outing on the mound.

Bussard had seven strikeouts and one run while pitching a complete game.

Brad surrendered five runs and three hits.

Ceres High defeated host Modesto High 7-3 on Feb. 28.

Price pitched.

Merrik yielded three runs (one earned) and six hits with five strikeouts and three walks over six innings.

Price also helped his own cause, finishing 1-for-4 with two runs.

Stahl, Ceres High’s pitcher, suffered a hard-luck loss.

He allowed no hits and one run in six innings.

Drew tallied seven strikeouts and two walks.

Hernandez, Price and Lujan all singled on offense.
