The Pac-12 Conference announced its Academic Honor Roll for the spring quarter on June 5.

Eleven members of the University of Washington softball team garnered recognition, including 2016 Ceres High School grad/Huskies senior shortstop Nicole “Sis” Bates.

It marked the third time Bates has been rewarded for her success in the classroom.

“She applies the same work ethic on the field as she does with being a great student, a great teammate, a great leader,” head coach Heather Tarr said.

Any Pac-12 student-athlete on his or her respective team roster with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or above was eligible to receive all-academic honors.

The Huskies had a 3.51 GPA as a team during the winter quarter, earning Washington’s Women’s Large Team Award.

Bates batted .529 from the plate with one triple, five doubles, 17 runs and 12 RBIs through Washington’s first 25 games this spring. She had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on defense.

The second-ranked Huskies had an impressive 23-2 overall record prior to the season being cut short due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
