Central Valley High School's varsity boys basketball team dominated in the first half and rolled to an 87-56 win over Turlock Christian's during last week's CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Foundation Game.

"Any time we play a game, our goal is to win," Hawks head coach Darryl Dickson said.

The game does not count towards team standings. Foundation contests raise money for the section's scholarship program and Women in Sports Conference.

"We played very well," Dickson said. "Our starters got a big lead for us. I didn't play them much after that."

Central Valley used 16 of its 17 players versus Turlock Christian on Dec. 2 in Ceres, excluding Modesto Christian transfer Daevon Brown.

Robert Preciado led the Hawks with 15 points.

Ryan Donnelly and Joshua Villegas both scored 10 points.

Nimrat Chahal collected nine points.

Inayat Sahota and Alexis Villa chipped in with seven points apiece.

Jaron Dickson (six points), Ja'Quan Gardner (five points), Manuel Garcia (five points), Kendel Johnson (four points), Parker Griffin (four points), Diego Sanchez (three points) and Juan Manriquez (two points) also contributed.

"I was able to get everybody playing time," coach Dickson said. "Our second and third groups came in and did a really good job. We continued to pull away."

Central Valley will play host to Millenium today and compete in the Liberty Tournament in Brentwood, Dec. 12-14.
