The Western Athletic Conference will send three varsity girls tennis teams to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division-III playoffs next month.

Ceres High remained in the hunt for a postseason berth thanks to its 1-1 showing in WAC play this past week.

The Bulldogs improved to 6-3 in the conference standings after beating visiting Patterson 7-2 on Thursday.

Janet Jimenez defeated Avree Chairez 6-1, 1-6, 4-1 (retired) in No. 2 singles play.

Bianca DeAnda defeated Kitzia Gonzales 6-4, 1-0 (retired) in No. 3 singles play.

Julie Rosas defeated Kianna Garza 6-3, 6-1 in No. 5 singles play.

Joylce Vega defeated Antonia Perez 6-4, 0-6, 6-4 in No. 6 singles play.

Andria Esho and Dominique Koeurn defeated Valentina Delgado and Guadalupe Valencia Rodriguez 6-3, 6-1 in No. 1 doubles play.

Chelsea Heras and Jalani Blankenship defeated Rebekah Miranda and Huma Aziz 5-7, 6-4, 20-18 in No. 2 doubles play.

Gabriela Gamboa and Aleena Ahmed defeated Kiara Rios and Melissa Melchor in 3 doubles play.

Gabriella Blandino lost 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 to Ashley Affalla in No. 1 singles play.

Justine Vega lost 6-4, 7-5 to Catarina Borges in No. 4 singles play.
