Dolphins edge out Tritons, end 40-plus-year losing streak

The Ceres Dolphins recreational swim team snapped a four-decade-plus losing streak against the Tracy Tritons last week.

The Dolphins won the MVSL showdown, 1,007.5-956.5, on Saturday at Ceres High School.

Ceres battled back from a 26-point deficit.

"It's been 40-plus years since we beat them in a dual meet," Dolphins head coach Tracy Bull said. "It was a great experience for our kids."

INDIVIDUALS

17-18 boys

Victor Cruz placed first in the 100 breast and 50 free.

Billy Gonzalez placed first in the 100 back and 100 free, and second in the 50 free.

Conner Almeida placed second in the 100 back and 100 free, and third in the 50 free.

17-18 girls

Cierra Alvear placed first in the 50 breast and 50 fly, and second in the 100 IM.
