Dolphins end season with respectable league finals showing

The Ceres Dolphins met head coach Tracy Bull's expectations while competing at the Mid Valley Swim League Championships this past weekend in Turlock.

The recreational swim club posted a team score of 1,253 en route to a third-place finish on Saturday at Pitman High School.

"That's the highest we've ever placed in over 25 years," head coach Tracy Bull said. "We had a great showing. Obviously, we're happy. But we're not satisfied. We don't lose anybody for next year. We're looking to improve."

The Turlock Sea Dogs (1,6741/2), Ripon Sea Lions (1,437), Tracy Tritons (1,1701/2) and Manteca Dolphins (1005) took first, second, fourth and fifth, respectively.

Julia Pata (15-16 girls), and cousins Emma Silveria (9-10 girls) and Victoria Silvera (9-10 girls) were awarded High-Point trophies for their individual success at the MVSL meet. Julia, Emma and Victoria posted a combined record of 9-0.

Reuven Denton (15-16 boys), Ciana Sather (13-14 girls), Kaydence Bispo (7-8 girls) and Zhaira Brar (6&under girls) all placed second overall in their respective age groups.

"They're amazing swimmers," Bull said.

15-16 boys
Reuven Denton placed first in the 100 fly and 100 free, and second in the 50 free.

Colin Ramos placed second in the 100 fly, sixth in the 100 free and seventh in the 50 free.

Tim Campbell placed eighth in the 50 free and 10th in the 100 free.

Logan Kier placed ninth in the 100 breast, 11th in the 100 free and 15th in the 50 free.

15-16 girls
Julia Pata placed first in the 100 IM, 100 free and 50 free.

Keana Miller placed second in the 50 breast, ninth in the 100 free and 13th in the 50 free.

Lindsey Reedy placed seventh in the 50 breast, ninth in the 50 free and 10th in the 100 free.

Annie Connors placed eighth in the 50 fly, 11th in the 100 free and 18th in the 50 free.
