The Ceres Dolphins concluded their summer with a fourth-place showing at the Mid Valley Swim League championships this past weekend at Pitman High School.

The recreational club totaled 611 points at the eight-team meet.

Ceres finished ahead of the Manteca Dolphins (373.5), Oakdale Gators (307), Modesto-Stanislaus Sharks (153) and Turlock Marlins (26).

The Ripon Sea Lions (1,176.5), Tracy Tritons (980) and Sea Dogs (690) took first, second and third, respectively.

"The team represented our community well," head coach Tracy Bull said. "At least 80 percent of our times were better than the previous week. We had some great performances. I didn't think our top six athletes would go undefeated. That's unheard of."

Ceres' Tyler Padilla (17-18 boys), Cassandra Guevara (15-16 girls), Haley Fisicaro (13-14 girls), Jadyn Shinn (7-8 girls), Jordan Shinn (6&under boys) and Emma Silveira (6&under girls) brought home high-point trophies. They posted a combined record of 18-0 at the season-ending meet.

Cierra Alvear (15-16 girls) won two individual titles.

Montana Bull (15-16 girls) placed first once.

Jadyn broke a meet record during the 50-free competition.

She didn't lose a single race this year (28-0).

"She's a phenomenal athlete," coach Bull said.

Jordan shattered three meet records.

"He's amazing," Tracy said. "I just can't believe he can go that fast."

Tyler, Cassandra, Haley and Emma turned in personal-best times in their respective events. "Haley was dominant," coach Bull said.

Ceres also successfully defended its 15-18 girls 200-medley relay title for the second straight year. Montana, Cierra, Cassandra and Haley contributed to the thrilling victory. They bested Ripon's quartet by 48-hundreths of a second.
