Dolphins take fifth

The Ceres Dolphins placed fifth in a field of eight at the Sea Dogs Invitational on Saturday in Turlock.

The recreational youth swim club accumulated 407 points on its way to finishing ahead of Manteca (276.5), Modesto-Stanislaus (264) and Central Valley Acquatics (42).

Ripon (1,201.5), Hughson (888), Tracy (761) and Oakdale (434) took first, second, third and fourth, respectively.

Ceres had two high-point winners: 18-year-old Ryan Calou and Tyler Padilla, 16.

Jadyn Shinn, 7, just missed out on the top honor.

A host of other Dolphins turned in dominant performances as well.

Individual

17-18 boys

Ryan Calou placed first in the 100 IM, 100 free and 50 free.

17-18 girls

Anna Polovin placed fourth in the 100 IM and 50 fly, and fifth in the 50 free.

15-16 boys

Tyler Padilla placed first in the 100 IM, 100 fly and 100 breast.

Christian Moore placed second in the 100 back, seventh in the 50 free and eighth in the 100 free.

Stephen Jones placed fifth in the 50 free, sixth in the 100 breast and seventh in the 100 free.

15-16 girls

Cierra Alvear placed first in the 50 breast, second in the 100 IM and fourth in the 50 fly.

Cassandra Guevara placed second in the 100 free, 50 free and 50 fly.

Tori Gunzenhauser placed fourth in the 100 free, and fifth in the 50 free and 50 breast.

Megan Valenzuela placed fifth in the 100 free and seventh in the 50 free.

13-14 boys

Damien Underwood placed eighth in the 50 breast.

13-14 girls

Haley Fisicaro placed second in the 100 free, and third in the 50 free and 50 fly.

Savanna Alvear placed third in the 50 back and 50 free, and sixth in the 100 free.

Bianca Alaniz placed fifth in the 50 fly.

Payton Mahu placed eighth in the 50 back.

Cheyenne Brazil placed eighth in the 50 breast.
