The Ceres Earthquakes continued their hot streak.

The 12-and-under competitive girls soccer team won three of four games en route to a first-place finish at the Stanford Summer Classic in Los Altos.

Ceres improved to 7-1 on the year.

The Earthquakes captured the FC Elk Grove Sunstroke Classic title this past month.

"I knew we'd have a strong group," head coach Adriana Ruiz said. "They're very talented. They just work really hard. They practice a lot, three days a week. They're very dedicated."

Ceres edged Sacramento United Extreme White 3-2 in the finals on Aug. 23.

Jackie Ruiz led the way with two goals.

Twin sister Aaliyah Ruiz scored once.

Jackie tallied three goals and Sydney Pike added one during the Earthquakes' 4-1 victory over North Valley Youth Soccer League-San Jose United earlier in the day.

Ceres won its first game, 4-1, versus Mountain View/Los Altos FC Lightning on Aug. 22.

Jackie and Aaliyah both scored twice to lead the Earthquakes.

Ceres lost 2-1 to the PAC San Jose Alphas.

Jackie Ruiz accounted for the Earthquakes' goal.

Ceres' defense allowed just five goals in four games.

Jennifer Duran, Daisy Duran, Alyssah Martinez, Angela Salazar and goalkeeper Leslie Sandoval earned praise from their head coach.

"They all did amazing," Adriana Ruiz said.
