Ceres High's and Central Valley's football programs will be co-hosting a five-team round-robin scrimmage this Saturday at Bulldog Stadium.
Admission will be charged at the gate. Food, soda and water will also be sold.
"People are coming to our place to watch football," Bulldogs head coach Bret Durossette said. "There's a lot of excitement. We get to showcase our school and town. Hopefully, both teams do well."
Brad Bussard (QB), Johnni Smith-Willis (RB/DB) and Ramon Coral (OL/DL) will lead the Bulldogs.
Moses Ghiorso (RB/DB), Gerardo Solorzano (QB) and Danny Alvarado (OL/DL) will lead the Hawks.
"The main goal is to leave there with a good feeling," Central Valley new head coach Scott Edwards said. "We're not worried about results. We want to execute and stay healthy."
Varsity scrimmages will get underway at 9 a.m.
Ceres High and Central Valley will battle each other, along with Modesto High (Modesto Metro Conference), Modesto Christian (Trans Valley League) and Edison of Fresno (County/Metro Athletic Conference).
"I met Scott Edwards," Durossette said. "I'm excited for him, his family and Central Valley. They finally got the right guy over there."
The 2014 season will get underway on Aug. 29.
Ceres High will compete against Modesto High at Bulldog Stadium.
Central Valley will travel to Manteca to face Sierra on Sept. 5.
