Ceres High School's varsity softball team hammered host Los Banos and Central Catholic in Western Athletic Conference play this past week.

The visiting Bulldogs beat Los Banos by the five-inning mercy-rule, 18-0, on Friday.

First-place Ceres High improved to 13-2 overall and 7-0 in the conference standings.

The Bulldogs have outscored their WAC opponents, 80-5.

"This is the best team I've ever coached," head coach Donnie Donaldson said. "We're loaded with talent and experience. The way we've been hitting is pretty incredible and fun to watch. We're having a dream season."

Ceres High batted .536 from the plate with just one strikeout as a team versus Los Banos.

Kaytlin Donaldson finished 2-for-4 with two doubles, four RBIs and two runs.

Nicole Bates finished 2-for-4 with one double, three RBIs, three runs and two stolen bases.

Kinsey Ward finished 2-for-2 with one triple, three RBIs and one run.

Sabrina Baisdon finished 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBIs.

Mahlena O'Neal finished 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Rayohna Sagapolu finished 1-for-3 with one double and two runs.

Megan McCormick finished 1-for-1 with two runs and two stolen bases.

Jessica Arreola finished 1-for-3 with two runs.

Mikayla Whatley scored three times and singled once.

Cameron Diaz and Camrynn Broumas tallied one run each.

Breanne DeLeon singled.

Donaldson was effective on the mound. She gave up two hits, struck out four batters and walked three while shutting out the Tigers.

Ahead 8-0, Ceres High scored 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Ceres High handled Central Catholic, 8-0, on Wednesday in Modesto.

Sagapolu had 10 strikeouts and six walks at pitcher.

She gave up no runs and one hit over six innings.

Bates finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs.

O'Neal finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Sagapolu finished 3-for-3 with two triples, one RBI and one run.

Arreola finished 2-for-4 with one double and two runs.

MacKenzie Veuve finished 2-for-4 with one double.

Broumas plated one run and scored once.

Ward and Whatley both tallied one run.

Baisdon singled twice.

Ceres High will host Pacheco today and travel to Patterson on Thursday. Both league games will begin at 4 p.m.

"We're putting the bat on the ball consistently," coach Donaldson said. "We're hot right now."
