Central Valley girls golf tops Los Banos, Pacheco
CHS drops to 0-3 in WAC play

Central Valley's varsity girls golf team dropped its Western Athletic Conference opener to Livingston on Sept. 7.

The Hawks won back-to-back matches at home last week.

Central Valley improved to 2-1 in the WAC standings following Thursday's 220-263 win over Pacheco at St. Stanislaus Golf Course.

Freshman Amelia Daoheung led the Hawks with a 40.

Paulina Diaz and Emily Almanza carded 42 and 44, respectively.

Fiona Gay and sophomore Esmeralda Lopez chipped in with identical scores of 47.

Host Central Valley edged Los Banos by four strokes, 242-246, on Sept. 12.

Daoheung paced the Hawks with a 45.

Lopez, Diaz, Almanza and Gay shot 47, 49, 50 and 51, respectively.

Bulldogs winless
Ceres High's varsity girls golf team dropped its first three matches of the WAC season.

The Bulldogs suffered a 275-353 loss while competing against Livingston on Thursday at Rancho Del Rey Golf Course.

Alexandra Potts led Ceres High with a 58. Bulldog teammates Bailey Showen, Ariana Medina, Benia Torres and Izabell McMurray posted rounds of 67, 71, 78 and 79, respectively.

Potts, Showen and Medina carded identical scores of 42 during Ceres High's 236-248 setback versus Patterson at Diablo Grande on Sept. 12.

Torres and McMurray shot 59 and 63, respectively.

Host Ceres High opened WAC play with a 240-267 loss against Los Banos on Sept. 7 at St. Stanislaus Golf Course.

Showen carded a team-best 47. Potts (50), Medina (50), McMurray (58) and Torres (62) rounded out the Bulldogs' scorecard.

Central Valley and Ceres High will battle at St. Stanislaus this Thursday at 2 p.m.
