Central Valley High School's varsity wrestling program compiled a 1-1 record en route to a runner-up finish at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division-IV Team Duals on Saturday at Lincoln of Stockton.

The second-seeded Hawks lost 69-6 to No. 1 Oakdale in the finals.

The Mustangs placed first for the sixth year in a row.

Central Valley defeated Vista Del Lago 51-25 in the semifinals.

Central Valley received a first-round bye at the six-team event.

"Our main focus was to enjoy the experience," Hawks head coach Rob Beckhart said. "Oakdale has one of the best teams in the area. We're going to see their guys in a couple weeks at Divisionals."

Vista Del Lago, Cosumnes Oaks, Central Catholic and Sierra were seeded third, fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

Hawk Eddy Nunez posted a 2-0 record at 162 pounds. He won by pin against Oakdale and forfeit versus Vista Del Lago.

Hawks teammates Ethan Rotondo (108s), Christian Oliver (115s), Jose Castillo (134s/140s), Luis Torres (154s), Rick Brown (172s), Adrian Badillo (184/197s), Adrian Vizcaino (184/197s) and Jose Medina (285s) posted identical 1-1 records.

Cristian Garcia (147s) and Alex Alvarado (147s) had 0-1 marks in their respective divisions.

Central Valley's Michael Manzur (122s), Severo Vazquez (128s), Cory Cantaloube (134/140s) and Jason Beckhart (222s) all lost twice.

The Hawks advanced to the section duals for the first time in program history during the 2010-11 school year.
