Ceres High boys, girls move to 3-1 in WAC standings

Ceres High's varsity swim program has been on a roll since losing to Los Banos during the opening week of the Western Athletic Conference dual-meet campaign.

"We tell our kids to push themselves regardless of whoever the other team is," co-head coach Dylan Hines said. "They always try their best."

Ceres High's second-place girls team secured its third consecutive victory with a 114-55 win over visiting Pacheco on Thursday.

Kassandra Armas placed first in the 200 free and 100 fly.

Alene Feld placed first in the 200 IM and second in the 100 breast.

Allison McAdams placed first in the 100 breast and second in the 50 free.

Paulina Miramontes placed first in the 100 free and second in the 100 back.

Jullissa Arreola placed second in the 500 free.

Katherine Hensley placed second in the 200 free and third in the 100 breast.

Emily Wolff placed second in the 100 free and fourth in the 200 free.

Savannah Zielke placed third in the 200 IM and 100 fly.

Gurpinder Bahia placed third in the 100 free.

Tania Garfias placed third in the 50 free.

Angelina Colunga placed third in the 100 back and fifth in the 200 IM.

Micaela Franco placed fourth in the 100 fly.

Savannah Jordan placed fourth in the 100 back.

The Bulldogs bested the Panthers last week thanks in large part to their talent and depth.

"We had a good feeling the meet was going to go in our favor," Hines said. "They didn't have as many kids as us. It wasn't our best day. The pool was cold. It was windy. But we still won."
