Ceres High girls squad improves to 4-0 in WAC play

Ceres High’s varsity girls tennis team kept its unbeaten record intact this past week.

The Bulldogs improved to 4-0 in the Western Athletic Conference standings after besting Pacheco and Johansen.

Ceres High cruised to an 8-1 win over visiting Pacheco on Sept. 18. The Bulldogs swept all three doubles and five of six singles matches.

Mahnoor Kahloon and Monica Esparza Diaz defeated Sontee Schofield and Bianca Montoya 6-0, 6-1 in No. 1 doubles plays.

Mercedez Wood and Liesha Jimenez defeated Arline Borja and Victoria Cortez 6-0, 6-1 in No. 2 doubles play.

Pamelina Lo and Dilpreet Sidhu won by default at No. 3 doubles.

Jillian Jimenez defeated Jackie Gomez 6-1, 6-3 in No. 2 singles play.

Jasmine Bahia defeated Iris Garcia 6-0, 6-2 in No. 3 singles play.

Gurmannet defeated Kayla Velasquez 6-1, 6-3 in No. 4 singles play.

Gurmenjit Bahia defeated Aaliyah Lucas 6-0, 6-1 in No. 5 singles play.

Christel Ontiveros defeated Arianna Sanchez 6-1, 6-1 in No. 6 singles play.

Tania Garfias lost 6-4, 7-6 to Litzy Rivera in No. 1 singles play.

Visiting Ceres High posted a 7-2 victory against Johansen on Sept. 16 in Modesto.

The Bulldogs took all three doubles matches from the Vikings.

Kahloon and Esparza Diaz won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles.

Wood and Liesha Jimenez won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Lo and Evelin Guardado won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.

Ceres High’s singles ladder totaled four points.

Jasmine Bahia defeated Evelyn Tamayo 6-4, 7-6 in No. 3 singles play.

Gurmannet Bahia defeated Morgan Boyd 4-, 6-1, 6-3 in No. 4 singles play.

Gurmenjit Bahia defeated Anais Gonzalez 7-6, 6-4 in No. 5 singles play.

Ontiveros defeated Kella Aguayo 6-1, 6-0 in No. 6 singles play.

Garfias lost 6-4, 6-1 to Mckenna Taylor in No. 1 singles play.

Jillian Jimenez lost 6-1, 7-5 to Ashley Cabral in No. 2 singles play.

Ceres High will host Mountain House today at 3:30 p.m.
