Central Valley High School's varsity girls tennis team prevailed and fell by identical scores of 8-1 in Western Athletic Conference play last week.

The Hawks notched their second consecutive win on Sept. 20.

Central Valley won all three doubles and five of six singles matches on its way to nearly blanking visiting Livingston.

Daniela Yepez and Yesenia Bernal defeated Valeria Lopez and Natalie Valencia 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 10-7 in No. 1 doubles play.

Jocelyn Rodriguez and Nayeli Castellanos defeated Migdalay Pacheco and Erica Lomeli 6-4, 6-3 in No. 2 doubles play.

Priscilla Sanchez and Elisabeth Valdez defeated Jisselle Trujillo and Analicia Fuentes 7-5, 6-2 in No. 3 doubles play.

Claudia Martinez defeated Marissa Aguilar 6-0, 6-3 in No. 1 singles play.

Lupita Becerra defeated Elena Marin 6-0, 6-1 in No. 2 singles play.

Sue Dhillon defeated Gabby Ramirez 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 in No. 4 singles play.

Gianna Arce defeated Esme Ramos 6-4, 6-3 in No. 5 singles play.

Mixtly Vega defeated Lexi Medeiros 6-2, 7-5 in No. 6 singles play.

Adriana Escobedo lost 6-3, 7-5 to Andreina Mendoza in No. 3 singles play.

Visiting Central Valley dropped two of three doubles and all six singles matches in losing to defending WAC-champion Los Banos on Thursday.

Yepez and Bernal defeated Chloe Emerson and Zoe Seabock 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 in No. 1 doubles play.

Rodriguez and Castellanos lost 6-2, 6-4 to Corie Falaschi and Trinity Meza in No. 2 doubles play.

Sanchez and Valdez lost 6-1 6-1 to Bridget Lopez and Taylor Giampietro in No. 3 doubles play.

Martinez lost 6-0, 6-0 to Shirley Liu in No. 1 singles play.

Becerra lost 6-1, 6-3 to Taylor Torongo in No. 2 singles play.

Escobedo lost 6-1, 6-0 to Adrianna Moreno in No. 3 singles play.

Dhillon lost 6-3, 6-0 to Haley Ballez in No. 4 singles play.

Arce lost 6-0, 6-1 to Kiara Azevedo in No. 5 singles play.

Vega lost 6-2, 6-1 to Brooklyn Garcia in No. 6 singles play.

The Hawks moved to 2-5 in the WAC standings.
