Central Valley's varsity girls wrestling program had a strong showing at the Sierra Nevada Classic on Dec. 29.

Vanessa Contreras, Carla Martinez, Esther Esceverri, Olyvia Chaboya and Natalia Torres gained valuable experience in defeat.

"It was nice to get out of the area and see high-caliber wrestling," Beckhart said. "The girls did well for what they were up against. There were a lot of state qualifiers there."
