Ceres High's varsity boys swim program trailed by three points heading into the final event of Thursday's Western Athletic Conference dual meet versus visiting Livingston.

The Bulldogs' 400-free relay team of Connor Mills, Logan Kier, Christian Pelayo and Caleb Bishop took first and propelled Ceres High to a narrow 87-82 victory.

"It all boiled down to the final 400 relay," Ceres High head coach Sue Garcia said. "We needed to place first and that is exactly what the boys did. I'm ecstatic over their will to win the meet."

The Bulldogs (2-1) moved into a tie for second place in the WAC standings with the Wolves.

Ceres High took first in the 200 medley relay against Livingston.

Ceres High took first and third in the 200 free relay.

Kier took first in the 200 free and 500 free.

Tristan Freitas-Scott took first in the 200 IM and 100 free.

Elliott Lewis took first in the 50 free and 100 breast.

Caleb Bishop took first in the 100 back and second in the 100 free.

Mills took third in the 100 fly.

Mark Razo took third in the 50 free.

Adam Rantz took third in the 100 breast and fifth in the 100 free.

Pelayo took fourth in the 100 back and fifth in the 200 IM.

Noah Rantz took fifth in the 200 free and 500 free.

"I knew it was going to be a tight swim competition versus Livingston," Garcia said. "I've watched their program grow over the past three years and respect the fierce competitiveness they display in the pool."

Dawgs 101, Wolves 69
Ceres High's varsity girls swim program pulled away for a 101-69 win over Livingston last week.

"We had some great improvements in our distance swimmers," Garcia said.

Camryn Silva took first in the 200 IM and second in the 100 free.

Kiera Brownlee took second in the 200 IM and 100 breast.

Noelia de Leon took second in the 500 free and fourth in the 50 free.

Savannah Zielke took third in the 100 fly.

Rhiannon Wynne took fourth in the 200 free and 100 free.

Micaela Franco took fifth in the 100 fly.

Tania Garfias took sixth in the 200 IM and 100 back.

Jennifer Martinez took sixth in the 50 free and 100 breast.

Ninweh Gorges took sixth in the 200 free.

Silver Harvey took sixth in the 500 free.
