Central Valley's cross country program had a host of runners compete at the Pacific Grove Invitational on Saturday.
"It was a good, mid-term test," Hawks' standout Andres Rojo said. "We wanted to see how we could do individually. We did pretty well. A lot of us got medals."
Rojo placed fifth with a time of 17 minutes, 46 seconds on the 3.1-mile course during the Senior Boys race.
Carlos Prado Diaz (21:36), Aaron Vander Wal (22:25), Sergio Garcia (22:51) and Isaiah Sanchez (26:26) took 21st, 28th, 30th and 36th, respectively.
"It was a challenging course," Andres said. "It was pretty hilly. You know how the Bay Area is."
Emily Curiel (25:08), Dana Miranda (26:45), Brittney Smith (31:15) and Alexis Eproson (38:26) finished 13th, 16th, 25th and 28th, respectively, during the Senior Girls race.
Chase Bogart (18:51.53, Javier Cuevas Sanchez (20:36), Sabino Urrutia (21:12), Samson Gonzalez (22:51) and Sanvir Dhillion (32:23) placed 17th, 48th, 56th, 76th and 94th, respectively, in the Junior Boys Division.
Vanessa Contreras (24:56) and Rubi Gonzalez (31:55) placed 18th and 55th, respectively, in the Junior Girls Division.
Enrique Martinez (19:20), Favio Gonzalez (19:55), Patric Senesom (21:13), Eric Andrade (21:47) and Karanvir Singh (23:04) placed 14th, 21st, 38th, 48th and 66th, respectively, in the Sophomore Boys Division.
