Maryn Curry and Ceres High’s track and field program will compete against Mountain House at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at Bulldog Stadium.

Central Valley’s boys and girls track and field teams placed sixth and seventh, respectively, at the Central California Conference’s second cluster meet on March 30 at Patterson Community Stadium.

The Hawks totaled 16.5 points while finishing behind Golden Valley, Atwater, Patterson, Merced and Buhach Colony during the boys competition.

Central Valley topped El Capitan.

Hawk Joseph Alamo took fifth in the long jump.

Roberto Rosales took seventh in the 300 hurdles and 15th in the 1,600.

Alejandro Hernandez took seventh in the long jump and 27th in the shot put.

Kevin Lee took 11th in the 3,200 and 26th in the 1,600.

Central Valley’s 4x100 relay team of Joseph Alamo, Alejandro Hernandez, Elijah DeLeon and Roberto Tiscareno took third.

Central Valley’s 4x400 relay team of Hernandez, DeLeon, Rosales and Alex Contreras took fifth.

Central Valley’s girls totaled 22 points while finishing last behind Atwater, Golden Valley, Patterson, Merced, El Capitan and Buhach Colony.

Hawk Kalli Hoffman took first in the 400, and third in the 200 and 100.

Carmen Ramirez took 12th in the 800 and 13th in the 1,600.

Ashley Anaya took 13th in the 800.

Julia Roton took 16th in the shot put and 21st in the discus.


Lathrop tops CHS

Ceres High’s boys track and field team suffered its first loss during the Western Athletic Conference dual-meet season last week.

The Bulldogs dropped to 4-1 in the WAC after being beaten 98-38 by visiting Lathrop on April 6 at CUSD Stadium.

Verlis Smith took first in the 100 and 200, and third in the long jump.

Austin Munguia took first in the 400 and third in the triple jump.

Fermin Esparza took second in the 100, 200 and pole vault.

Miguel Rivera took second in the discus, sixth in the shot put and eighth in the long jump.

Jaiden Boss took third in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles.

Von Tigner took third in the 100, fifth in the triple jump and sixth in the long jump.

Daniel Baker took third in the shot put and sixth in the discus.

Ricky Stanley took third in the high jump, sixth in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles, and seventh in the long jump.

Eduardo Ortiz took third in the 3,200 and ninth in the 1,600.

Ceres High’s 4x100 relay team of Manny Mendoza, Fermin Esparza, Austin Munguia and Verlis Smith took first.

Ceres High’s girls track and field team dropped to 3-2 in the league standings following its 107-29 loss to Lathrop.

Maryn Curry took first in the high jump and second in the long jump.

Jillian Mande took first in the discus and third in the shot put.

Alyssa Aveytia took first in the shot put and fourth in the discus.

Aliyah Strehal took second in the high jump, third in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump.

Alexa Sandoval took second in the shot put and sixth in the discus.

Jaden Stahl took second in the 800 and seventh in the triple jump.
