Ceres High School's varsity softball team won its first three games of the Western Athletic Conference season by a combined score of 31-1.

The Bulldogs totaled 39 hits and committed just three errors against Pacheco, Livingston and Central Catholic.

Ceres High's pitching staff limited its three opponents to a .149 team batting average and tallied 25 strikeouts.

"I'm really happy," Bulldogs head coach Donnie Donaldson said. "We got off to a really good start. That's a big step in the right direction."

Ceres High (8-2, 3-0) will host Patterson (0-1) today and travel to Los Banos (2-0) on Friday.

"This is a big week," Donaldson said. "It's going to be interesting. It's not going to be a cakewalk. On any given day, a team can play well. I don't count anyone out."

The Bulldogs scored 12 runs in the top of the first inning on its way to a 15-0 win against host Pacheco on Friday.

Ceres High collected 17 hits during the game.

Kaytlin Donaldson batted 3-for-3 from the plate with one homer, five RBIs and three runs.

MacKenzie Veuve batted 3-for-4 with one double, two RBIs and three runs.

Nicole Bates batted 3-for-3 with one double and two runs.

Megan McCormick batted 1-for-2 with one homer, two RBIs and one run.

Rayohna Sagapolu and Sabrina Baisdon both batted 1-for-2 with one run.

Sagapolu and Ali Lowman split time at pitcher.

Rayohna, Ceres High's starter, earned the win.

Sagapolu gave up no hits and fanned one batter in one inning.

Lowman allowed one hit with three strikeouts and two walks over four innings.

Donaldson was dominant on the mound during Ceres High's 10-0 mercy-rule rout of host Livingston on Wednesday.

Kaytlin had 13 strikeouts in six innings.

She yielded just three hits and walked one batter.

Donaldson batted 1-for-3 with one double and three RBIs.

Mikayla Whatley batted 1-for-3 with one homer, two RBIs and one run.

Camrynn Broumas batted 1-for-2 with two RBIs and one run.

Bates batted 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBIs.

Veuve batted 2-for-2 with one RBI and one run.

Baisdon batted 1-for-4 with one double and one run.

Sagapolu batted 1-for-3 with two runs.

Ceres High defeated 2013 WAC-champion Central Catholic 6-1 on March 14.

Sagapolu surrendered one run and four hits with eight strikeouts and two walks in seven innings.

Rayohna singled on offense.

Mahlena O'Neal batted 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run.

Donaldson batted 2-for-3 with two runs.

Baisdon batted 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Jessica Arreola scored once.

Veuve doubled.

Bates and McCormick both singled.

The Bulldogs led 2-1 at the end of the fourth inning.

Ceres High tallied four runs in the fifth inning.

"It was fun to watch," coach Donaldson said while talking about his team's performance versus Central Catholic, Livingston and Pacheco.
