Los Banos dealt Ceres High School's varsity girls water polo squad its first loss of the season.

The host Bulldogs lost 15-4 to the Tigers on Oct. 7 in Ceres.

"My girls weren't mentally ready for the game," Ceres High head coach Stephen Dias said. "They just weren't focused. They were overconfident. Overconfidence will kill you."

Emily Chapman tallied a team-high two goals for the Bulldogs, who dropped to 2-1 in the WAC standings.
Julia Pata and Kirstie Lomoljo both scored once.

Ceres High goalkeeper Jasmine Moore had three saves.

"Los Banos plays a different game than what most teams do," Dias said. "They have a fast counter. They clog the hole set. They took our advantage away. I feel we can close the competitive gap. We know what they're going to do now. They don't know what changes we're going to make."

The Bulldogs will compete at Pacheco on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
