The Ceres High girls tennis team has yet to taste defeat this season.

The Bulldogs rolled past Oakdale 101/2-41/2 and Manteca 131/2-11/2 in conference play last week.

Ceres improved to 5-0 on the year, including 4-0 in the Valley Oak League.

"We definitely got to get better," coach Bryan Harden said. "I think we will."

The Bulldogs won six of nine singles and three of four doubles matches against the host Mustangs on Thursday.

"That was a big win for us," Harden said. "I say that because I have a very inexperienced team. Oakdale's won the last two league titles."

McKenzy Harden defeated Ali Maddox 6-1, Carolyn Rowley 6-0 and Korinne Baxter 6-0 in singles play.

"She dominated," coach Harden said.

Logan Harden defeated Maddox 6-3 and Baxter 6-1. She lost 6-3 to Rowley.

Angie Prak defeated Baxter 6-0. She lost 6-1 to Maddox and 6-0 to Rowley.

Tiffany Ornells and Sydney Featherstone defeated Elise Derby and Tiana Teague 11-9, and Iris Quiroga and Rupali Mahiada 10-3 in doubles play.

Natalie Flores and Christina Villavong defeated Derby and Teague 11-9. They lost 11-10 to Quiroga and Mahiada.

The Bulldogs won all nine singles and three of four doubles matches against the visiting Buffaloes on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

"I couldn't be more pleased with the girls," coach Harden said.

McKenzy beat Ericka Rice, Nicole Osborn and Bernice Rosas by identical 6-0 scores.

Logan beat Osborn 6-2, Rosas 6-0 and Rice 6-2.

Angie beat Rosas 6-1, Rice 6-0 and Osborn 6-0.

Tiffany and Sydney beat Kristen Teichera and Cassie Gause 10-5, and Morgan Salcido and Jasmine Wynn 10-3.

Natalie and Christina beat Salcido and Wynn 10-7. They fell 10-2 to Teichera and Gause.
