Blaker-Kinser Jr. High School's seventh-grade boys basketball team completed its run at perfection last Thursday.

The Sharks topped crosstown rival and visiting Mae Hensley 52-43 to stay undefeated in league play (10-0).

"The crowd was amazing," Blaker-Kinser head coach Clayton McLelland said. "Both sides were into the game, cheering for everybody."

Power forward Gary Briscoe paced the Sharks with 27 points, 22 rebounds, eight steals and four blocks.

"He's just a natural athlete," McLelland said. "His hard work puts him over the top."

Blaker-Kinser center Abraham Navarro added 10 points, 14 rebounds and six steals. Daniel Alvarez tallied six points and eight rebounds. Zack Megee had three points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. Dillon Singelton, Kenny Lopez and Kenny Azeredo chipped in two points each.

"We controlled the tempo of the game," McLelland said.

The Sharks posted a 10-2 overall record on the year. Blaker-Kinser reeled off eight straight wins after an 0-2 showing at the Mae Hensley tournament.

"From that point on, we just dominated everybody," McLelland said. "They played well together."
