Ceres Police suspect that alcohol may have fueled the aggression that a 22-year-old Modesto man displayed toward firefighters who were on a call in the Pine Ridge Apartment complex at 1301 Richland Avenue early Friday.

Members of the Modesto Fire Department were at the complex at 4:44 a.m. when they encountered Bryan Duran, 22, of Modesto who was threatening them and also attempted to run his car into a fire engine. They called for Ceres Police to respond.

Officers arrived on scene and stopped Duran who was driving a silver-colored Nissan Sentra in the apartment complex parking lot. Officers stopped Duran and he was taken into custody.

During the investigation, Officer Ramos noticed Duran appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and DUI and was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
