Two of six suspected gang members believed to have committed a home invasion robbery in southeast Modesto were arrested Wednesday morning, Nov. 11 in Ceres.
The robbery took place on Nov. 4 in the 400 block of Goldrun Drive. After Modesto Police were notified, officers quickly apprehended three of the suspects who were returning to a vehicle parked in the area. A fourth suspect fled on foot into a neighboring backyard but was found hiding in a backyard on nearby Hubert Street and arrested.
During the investigation Modesto Police learned that two additional suspects had fled prior to officers’ arrival. After reviewing neighborhood surveillance video, police identified a vehicle linked to the other suspects. Using Modesto’s city-wide surveillance camera systems, and Police Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology, investigators learned the vehicle made its way to a Ceres residence. Detectives saw the two suspects leaving in a vehicle, stopped the vehicle and arrested both suspects. Officers searched the car in Ceres and found items taken from the Modesto home.
MPD detectives served a search warrant at the Ceres residence, recovering additional evidence connected to the robbery as well as clothing and masks believed to have been worn during the robbery.
The six suspects were identified as Modesto residents Alexander Rincon, 26, Marco Vega, 31, Manuel Lopez, 23, Jose Reyuelta, 20, Abrahan Rivera, 31 and Oakland resident George Gonzales, 39. All six were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, and criminal street gang participation.
