Alleged 'porch pirate" arrested
Ceres Cop Car

The 9-1-1 call of an alert citizen helped Ceres Police net a "porch pirate" suspect who was seen taking a delivered package in the area of Rosewood Avenue and Loretta Lane.

The witnessed called at 2:47 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20 to say a man placed the package on his skateboard and pushed it down the street. Puebla then was seen handing the package to occupants in a green-colored sedan that had stopped before the police arrived. The suspect, Jeremiah Luis Puebla, 40, of Ceres, was stopped by police. Records showed he had an outstanding warrant so he was booked into the County Jail for theft and for the warrant.

The sedan was not located.
