A woman who was caught allegedly shoplifting inside Walmart Thursday evening was found with drugs and evidence that she was selling them for money.

A Walmart loss prevention officer called police at 5:37 p.m. for a shoplifter in custody. Suspect Chemaiah Carter, 32, was found with a large amount of cocaine stashed inside her purse. The drug was packaged into 22 individual packages and a larger amount was in a separate bag. The officer also found $740 in small denomination bills which was believed to be cash from prior sales of the drug.

Carter had a two-year-old boy with her. Child Protective Service was notified and the child's grandmother took the child while mom went to jail.

Police seized the $740 under asset forfeiture laws.
