EMPIRE MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS

A Friday, Oct. 2 traffic stop on a bicycle rider ended with his arrest for drug possession.

At 1:14 a.m., Officer Chase Maloney was patrolling the area of Mitchell and River roads when he stopped Frank Salas, 62 of Empire, for vehicle code violations. Salas informed the officer that he had a glass pipe in his possession. While searching Salas, Officer Maloney located the pipe which is commonly used for smoking methamphetamine. Additionally, Officer Maloney located a white crystalline substance suspected as being methamphetamine as well as several hydrocodone pills.

Salas was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance with two or more priors.

TWO RIDING IN CAR ARRESTED ON WARRANTS

Two persons riding in a car that was stopped by Ceres Police for violating the vehicle code were arrested Saturday evening on warrants for their arrest.

At approximately 9:23 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Christian Diaz was in the area of Bystrum Road and Sonora Avenue when he stopped an Acura which was occupied by Desarae Archuleta, 42, of Ceres, and Anthony Enos, 39, of Modesto.

A records check revealed Enos had a felony warrant for his arrest for drug related charges and Archuleta had three misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. Both were placed arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.

DUI ARREST MADE ON CERES MAN

Julian Delatorre, 48, of Ceres, was arrested Friday evening after he was pulled over for vehicle code violations and found to be intoxicated.

At approximately 10:06 p.m., Ceres Police Sergeant Matthew Vierra was patrolling the area of Central Avenue and Evans Road when he stopped Delatorre driving a Chevrolet Silverado. Sergeant Vierra immediately suspected that Delatorre was under the influence of alcohol, prompting a DUI investigation. Delatorre failed the series of field sobriety tests and was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
