An allegedly drunken 27-year-old Modesto driver was arrested Wednesday evening, Sept. 15 after a Ceres Police officer observed him speeding and weaving on the road.

At 11:14 p.m., Officer Aaron Pinon was patrolling the area of Hatch and Mitchell roads when he saw a maroon GMC Yukon moving at a high rate of speed westbound on Hatch. As driver Anthony Nunez, 27, of Modesto continued speeding onto northbound Mitchell Road, Officer Pinon pulled in behind the SUV and noticed it drifting within the lane.

Officer Pinon stopped on vehicle at Finch and Mitchell roads and noticed that Nunez appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. After a field sobriety test, Nunez was arrested for DUI.
