A Ceres teenager was arrested over the weekend after he was seen driving recklessly and nearly hitting over vehicles while on Hatch Road.

At 10:53 p.m. Officer Freddie Ortiz saw the driver driving from Stonum Road onto eastbound Hatch Road at a high rate of speed in a 1994 Accura Integra. The officer said he crossed Hatch Road so rapidly that the car nearly slid out of control and missed other vehicles. Ortiz flipped a U-turn and went after the driver as he weaved through traffic and ran through a red light at Hatch Road and Central Avenue. The driver then pulled over on Hatch Road near Payne Avenue.

The youth was arrested for reckless driving, evading a police officer and possession of a switchblade knife.
