A 35-year-old Bakersfield man was arrested early Thursday in Ceres on drug charges as well as a warrant for a drug charge.

At 2:15 a.m., Officer Kevin Roseen was patrolling the area of Mitchell and Service roads when he stopped a grey-colored Toyota Corolla for vehicle code violations. He learned that driver Jesse Willet, 35, of Bakersfield had a warrant for his arrest for possession of narcotics. Willet was arrested and during a search of his vehicle, officers located over 24 grams of a white powdery substance suspected of being narcotics. Based on the packaging and amount of narcotics, Officer Roseen additionally added the charge of possession of a controlled substance for sales.

Willet was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
