The theft of beer at the 7-Eleven at Hatch Road and Herndon Avenue early Sunday resulted in the suspect going to jail for stealing as well as driving on a suspended license, fleeing or evading the police and probation violation.

A store clerk activated the holdup alarm at 1:52 a.m. after Isidro Perez, 26, of Modesto, walked out of the store without paying for beer. Officer Jessica Graham responded and saw Perez driving away and activated her emergency lights. Perez failed to stop and led Officer Graham and Officer Coey Henson on a 25 mph pursuit down Nadine Avenue to northbound Bystrum Road, to Pecos Avenue where he stopped and was arrested.
