Ceres Cop Car

A 39-year-old Ceres man was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 3 after he allegedly brandished a knife and threatened to kill his brother during a heated argument.

At 3:35 p.m. police were dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Moffett Road regarding two adult brothers in an argument. One of the brothers, Jeremiah Puebla, 39, of Ceres, allegedly brandished a knife while uttering threats to kill him. Puebla was gone when officers arrived, so they checked the area and found him walking along a nearby canal bank. Officer Miguel Villalobos commanded Puebla to stop but the suspect ignored him. The officer grabbed the suspect by the arm and took the suspect to the ground, handcuffing him.

Puebla was booked for assault with a deadly weapon and making terrorist threats.
