A citizen’s complaint about multiple people loitering and drinking in the parking lot of 7-Eleven in the 1300 block of Herndon Road led to the arrest of one of them for drug possession early Sunday.

At 2:11 a.m., Ceres officers were dispatched to the store. Officer Matt Myers arrived and found three men, one of them Craig Vandagriff, 44, of Modesto who had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest with a bail amount of $155,555. Vandagriff was arrested and during a search found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine.

Vandagriff was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the warrant and possession of a controlled substance.

A short time later, at 3:53 a.m. Officer Jon Vera stopped a car for violations at Suffolk Drive and Perisburg Lane and found driver Trinidad Nevarez, 21, of Modesto, with an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of San Diego. He was arrested and booked.
