Ceres couple arrested in July death of infant
Stringfellow
Donna Stringfellow, 30, and Michael Holson, 31, have been arrested and charged with willful harm or injury to a child. Their infant son died on July 5, 2021.

A Ceres couple was arrested Thursday and charged in the July 5 death of a newborn infant.

Ceres Police detectives have been investigating the death of the baby for over three months and arrested and charged Donna Stringfellow, 30, and Michael Holson, 31, with willful harm or injury to a child. Both were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.

The death was reported at approximately 1:01 a.m. on July 5. Officers were dispatched to a home in the 2100 block of E. Whitmore Avenue. Paramedics arrived and after being transported to a local hospital the infant was pronounced dead. Detectives were called to the scene and began an investigation. Working with Child Protective Services and the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office, Ceres detectives determined there was enough evidence to support a child neglect/abuse charge against the parents.

This case is still under investigation by Ceres Detectives; they will conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation.

Anyone who has information about the case may asked to contact Detective Matthew Berlier at (209) 538-5616.
