A 27-year-old Ceres man was arrested Sunday evening for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
Manuel Garcia was driving a black Chevy Corvette at 7:57 p.m. when Officer Jordan Justice noticed a vehicle code violation and attempted to pull him over in the area of River and Moffett roads. Garcia continued driving at a slow speed before finally coming to a stop in a residential driveway on Riverette Drive. Garcia was detained and during the contact Officer Justice noticed Garcia appeared under the influence of alcohol. Garcia was given a field sobriety test, which he performed similar to someone under the influence
Garcia was arrested for misdemeanor evading in a vehicle and DUI and later submitted a breath sample that was nearly two times the legal limit. Garcia was then booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
