Ceres man arrested after burglarizing hardware store

A 41-year-old Ceres man was arrested Sunday evening after he allegedly broke into the Ace Hardware store and began stealing items.

Officer Aaron Pinon was dispatched at 10:36 p.m. to the Richland Ace Hardware store in the 2500 block of Whitmore Avenue on reports of a man wearing all black clothing who had just broken the front window of the business. The witness advised the suspect left the store and was riding off on a bike near Moffett Road and Whitmore Avenue. 

Officer Pinon was in the area within moments and spotted the suspect riding southbound on Moffett Road at Whitmore Avenue. Officer Pinon stopped the Angel Flores, 41, of Ceres and detained him.

The witness positively identified Flores as the man who broke into the store. Police discovered Flores entered the store to steal items which he still had in his possession. Flores was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center and faces charges of commercial burglary, vandalism and violation of probation.
