A 40-year-old Ceres man who was wanted on felony warrants was arrested Thursday afternoon in the area of Roeding Road and Rose Avenue.

Officer Kevin Roseen was patrolling the area at 4:20 p.m. when he spotted Jose Raya, for whom he was familiar, riding a bicycle. Officer Roseen knew Raya was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon and grand theft and stopped him to make the arrest.

During a pat down search of Raya, Officer Roseen found a white crystalline substance suspected of being methamphetamine.

Raya was booked on the warrants, possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation.
