Ceres Police arrest one in Turlock checkpoint

Ceres Police arrested a Patterson man for drunken driving in a DUI checkpoint in Turlock on Thursday conducted by multiple local police agencies.

The Avoid the 12 DUI crack-down took place in the 2600 block of Golden State Boulevard.

At 10:38 p.m., Robert Alpiche, 23, of Patterson, drove into the checkpoint and officers immediately could smell an alcoholic beverage on his breath. Alpiche admitted having three beers at the Stanislaus County Fair before getting into his car to drive. A field sobriety test was administered and Alpiche was arrested for DUI.
