Child porn charges for Ceres man

A 41-year-old Ceres man was arraigned yesterday in U.S. District Court on child pornography charges.

Detectives from the Ceres Police Department, working as members of the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force, conducted a June Internet Crimes Against Children investigation pertaining to child sexual exploitation. Computer forensic examiners at the Ceres Police Department indicated that to date in this investigation, Robert Correll of Ceres had in his possession in excess of 10,000 images of child pornography and over 5,000 video clips of child pornography.

The investigation is ongoing.

Correll was arrested for the possession of child pornography. He had previously been convicted in September, 2002, in Tuolumne County of the same charge.

On July 30 a federal indictment was obtained in the Eastern District of California at the United States Federal Court in Fresno on July 30. He was booked yesterday on the federal charges of Receipt of Material Involving the Sexual Exploitation of Minors, and Possession of Material Involving the Sexual Exploitation of Minors.
