Church vandalism suspect was wanted on felony warrant

A man who was seen landscaping in front of St. Jude’s Catholic Church at 3824 Mitchell Road Monday afternoon was found to be wanted on a felony warrant.

Police received a call at 3:07 p.m. about the destructive actions of Phannara Neang, 33, of Ceres and Officer Nate Blakeslee arrived to find him. Neang tried to run away but was detained. A records check revealed Neang had a felony warrant for his arrest. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for the outstanding warrant and vandalism.
