A citizen called police to report a suspected drunken driver, then followed him until police arrived and made an arrest late Saturday.

Police were notified at 11:43 p.m. about the erratic driver in the area of Whitmore Avenue and Moffet Road. The reporting party followed the car to a residence on Sixth Street. Jimmy Dickinson, 40, of Ceres, was out of the car by the time police arrived. However, the citizen positively identified Dickinson as the driver. After completing several field sobriety tests, police determined Dickinson to be drunk. He was charged with drunken driving.
