Two vehicles parked in the 3600 block of Georgeann Place were damaged Sunday morning when an alleged drunken driver ran his pickup into them.

The crash took place at 4:40 a.m.

Residents were awakened to a loud crash on the street where driver Xavier Bridges, 22, of Ceres, was passed out behind the wheel of his yellow 2007 Chevy pickup after it smashed into the parked cars. By the time police arrived Bridges was sitting on the sidewalk with his face covered in blood.

As officers investigated they detected the smell of alcohol on his breath.

Bridges, who also complained of ankle pain, was transported to the hospital. He was issued a citation to appear in court for DUI charges.
