A 61-year-old Modesto man who was pulled over by a Ceres Police officer in south Modesto early Saturday was later jailed for drunken driving.
At 1:55 a.m., Officer Aaron Pinon was on patrol in the area of Boulder and Broadway avenues when he stopped the driver of an Acura sedan for vehicle code violations.
While speaking to driver Rafael Villafana, Officer Pinon noticed he appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Villafana was given field sobriety tests and demonstrated them in a manner consistent with someone under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Villafana was arrested for DUI, and later gave a breath sample that was nearly double the legal limit for an adult to drive a vehicle.
Villafana booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for DUI.
